My dear Francis.

I have just completed putting in the "Dreams & Omens" where they will fit. Mr. Gurley sent me the corrected & revised galleys so that there will be no trouble and confusion when these go to the printer.

From the talk that I had with Mr. Gurley I think I shall have to add to the Chapter on Religion and Ethics to make clear the conception of Wakonda that it may not be confused with the Christian teaching. You know that there is an idea that the notion of "Great Spirit" is white. In a sense that is true, for Wakonda is not that but a permeating life. Not something apart from the Universe and all its forms and its life but the ever present life & power that holds all & makes all as it is.
