Last night I went to the Academy of Science. I did not enjoy the lecture because I could not hear the speaker he was from Holland.  He did well in a foreign language, but his voice lacked power.  Mr. McGee was there & left because he said "I don't know what he is talking about"!

Did I write you that "Josie Newcomb" who married Mr. Whiting when he was here under Cleveland, has lost her husband. She has 5 little children and is soon to be the mother of the 6th. It is very sad.
