393 West End Ave. N. York City Wed. Apr. 5.

My dear Francis
Your letter of Mar. 31 came safely to me here. The last two days have been fearfully stormy I cannot go out which is a great disappointment as there are many things & many people I want to see, but I came into an atmosphere of grippe. Mrs Osborn has been confined to her bed, & I have a slight, I hope, attack so it would be very wrong for me to go out in the downpour.

Mr Arthur Farwell asked me to dine with him last evening & go to the Concert of the [[Kineset?]] [[Qualleto?]] but the storm was too severe. I may see him here this morning. I do not know what he is doing. I hope he will be friendly to Cadman. I will see if I can do anything to help toward that.

As to your vacation, let me know when you can come on, for I must speak to Miss Westcott as soon as I get home & engage our rooms. Also let me know when you must return to the Osage. I shall have to have dates.
