As to the pipes, I note that both are of the round flat disc kind, not unlike that of the White buffalo. both however seem to me smaller than the Omaha pipe. One is quite small  I do not know whether the measurements of these pipes have been sent you. There is a projecting form beneath which reminds me of that beneath the W. B. Hide pipe only not so elaborate. Mr Hough thinks it was to hold the string which fastened the pipe bowl to the stem while it may have served that purpose sometime as is the case of the small pipe for a portion of the projection is broken [[insert]]on that pipe [[/insert]].
