think probable in the matter of coming home and taking all of July.

I have mailed you several papers & magazines all of which touch upon Indian music.

Thanks for the clipping from the Tribune. Mr. Krehbiel is very [[?]]. I have always declared there was [[underlined]] no [[/underlined]] minutely divided scale, & Mr. K. imputes to me the statement that Indians use it. I have wondered whether I ought to write a note to Mr K he is so prejudiced where Indian music is concerned that I doubt if he would do me any justice.

I met Mrs Howard, wife of L. O. Howard who is so interested in Negro music. She spoke of Cadman's songs, but she thinks they are not quite Indian enough. One cannot satisfy every one. Mr. Cadman's songs have carried a knowledge of Indian music farther than if they had been more strictly Indian Later I will send you adverse criticism of Natoma.

How is your arm? My cordial greeting to Mr Cadman. I like the use of "Wakefield Cadman", it is more distinctive than Chas. Wakefield Cadman.
