My dear Francis,
Mr. Gurley has spent 4 hours with me going over in detail over 100 pages. I have had to rewrite some parts of pages correcting the words & it has been hard work. I have also to go over the diagram & legend & rewrite some. Then I must rewrite 3 pages & add 200 words. This I will try & do tomorrow. I am very tired. I've not been well since New York where I took grippe I have a cough, am quite weak & not up to the mark. I have been out to the Museum to see the packs one day and out yesterday for sun & air. Today it rains again.

See this sounds dismal. I am sorry but I shall send it so that you may know what is going on. I've not heard from you for several days.

By the way I learn washing bills are not counted in in expenses. Those are personal expenses. The Government does not provide clean clothing!
