No shaw battle performance was given at the Indian show on account of the mud, but they had a Hathuska dance which was rather realistic, and exciting. They did not have a large audience. How they will come out financially is hard to tell. I think the long hand man who announces the acts to be performed is the Flower who who stole the sacred hide. I had a talk with him and he spoke of knowing many of the Omahas and Winnebagos, having lived near the reservation for thirty years. I shall try to have another talk with him and see if I can get anything out of him that will expose the real thieves. If we can get at the persons who did the stealing I think we can do something. I did not believe Flower did the stealing but he purchased from the thieves knowing that the articles were stolen.

If I find anything [[untrusty? certainty?]] about it will let you know

My dear M,
The sun has at last made its appearance and there is a promise of a pleasant day. Yesterday it was very gloomy, heavy showers falling now and then, yet there were "quite a few" out. The running of the models, printing presses, [[?]]scopes and electric machinery took away the crowds from the educational exhibits, still many came to our department. One time in the afternoon a large number gathered in the cosy corner and listened to my talk for about one hour, many of them were young people and asked a great many questions. Well I suppose it depends upon the classes of visitors as to the interest that will be given the educational exhibit.

The Hawaians seem to be jealous of each other. There are four, and three of them seem to be trying to
