I am glad Pratt is coming around to recognizing you because I think he has been unjust to you in holding you responsible for my extricating myself from a situation that started out to be the torment of my life. It was none of his affair but he seems to have taken sides in the matter & tried to be disagreeable.

The Osages are very affectionate to me and all greet me with unaffected pleasure. All seem to credit me with much help in a matter that deeply concerns their life. It is pathetic and touching, and I hope they will so conduct themselves that no further unjust criticisms will be made against them.

As soon as this unsettled weather becomes calm I shall take up my work in earnest. We had a severe thunder storm last night. The wind is still blowing hard.
