Your communication of July 17th is received_ I am instructed by the Committee for the distribution of the "Boston Fund" to request you to send the names of the ladies comprising the sub committee for New Berne and in the mean time to purchase to the extent of Three hundred dollars articles as provided in Circular such as Coffee, flour, Tea, Sugar &c or Material for female clothing_ to meet the necessities of those for whom the donation is intended ie the destitute sick, Aged, infirm and feeble children without reference to sex, color, or

Invoices will be furnished of all articles purchased, funds will be placed in the hands of some one to be named hereafter for such payments

I am instructed by the Committee for the distribution of the Fund donated by the Citizens of Boston to request you in connection with others to be hereafter named at as a sub committee for your County in distributing supplies purchased by this fund.

The Committee have appropriated Three hundred dollars and the object of the Fund is to meet the wants of the destitute sick Aged and infirm whose wants cannot be supplied by the provisions furnished by the Government. The funds will be deposited to your credit in Charlotte and it will be necessary to furnish invoices of articles purchased so that an account may be furnished to donors-
