At the request of the Committee for distributing the fund donated by the Citizens of Boston for charitable purposes, I herewith transmit draft on N. Y for One. Hundred dollars to be expended in the purchase of necessaries for the destitute in Morganton. At the suggestion of Hon. W. W. Holden one of the Committee the following named. gentlemen are selected for the purpose of distributing the same Tod. R Caldwell Esq and Mr. J. W. Woodward (Col).

Please hand the amount to these gentlemen for which they will sign enclosed receipts which will be returned to me

I am requested to inform you that some of the funds donated by the Citizens of Boston for Charitable purposes in this State are still disposable.

The fund is intended to reach all persons without regard to color or political bias, but is chiefly intended for the sick & infirm poor.

The Committee having the same in charge desire to donate $200.- or $300.- to the town of Beaufort.  You are requested to name a Committee of Citizens of not less than three members who will receipt for the money & take upon themselves the responsibility of distributing it, in the manner desired
