I only mention the above to show that a prisnor in jail never gives up hope. They are always waiting for some miricle to happen. There would probably be a lot of trouble in prisons if this were not so. Each little event that is somewhat out of the ordinary is immediately interpreted to have meaning in the direction that all prisnors think - freedom. Although your common sense tells you that it is nonsense to think this way, that is what happens.

My thoughts were somewhat like this concerning the haircut:

Why did he mention a hair cut, must be because they are going to release me. - Now that is stupid, you do need a haircut. - yes, that's
