Drove around the buffa pasture with Mr. Cramer & Mr. Hodges and examined the Alexander + Chescoolay places, deciding on the Chescoolay for wardens headquarters. This is a very attractive flat of 120 acres on the Mission Creek at NW corner of pasture and can be fenced out with little trouble. It is 10 or 12 miles from Dixon and there will probably be a station on the new GNRR. if built next year within a mile of the house.

[[underlined]] Sept. 8 [[/underlined]] Wrote letters and reports on buffalo found and arranged for trip to mts east of valley.
