Dear Mrs. Clark:

Having heard that you are in New York, we are dropping you these few lines to ask you whether you could care to see the famous "Portrait of Lady Lovat" which we have just brought over from England.

This portrait, which is considered to be one of Lawrence's masterpieces, is not only most brilliant in color, as the sitter is seen wearing a bright red velvet dress, but it is also one of the most beautiful 18th Century English portraits in existence, as Lady Lovat was one of the great beauties of her day.

If you are interested in modern paintings, we would be very pleased to show you a most remarkable painting by Renoir, and also a very rare double portrait by Fantin-Latour.

As our galleries are situated very near your hotel, I hope we may be favored with your visit before you leave town.

In the meanwhile,

Believe us to be

Yours very truly,
JACQUES SELIGMANN & CO., Inc.
