Dear Mr. Clayton

During a short stay in Houston, I heard through several of our mutual friends, that you were interested in paintings but, unfortunately, I was unable to reach you.

I should have liked to show you photographs of some of the fine paintings which we have in New York and which you would undoubtedly have greatly enjoyed seeing.

Our firm has been established in America for over 40 years and in Europe for over 60, and we have sold paintings to many of the leading Museums in the world, including the National Gallery of London, the Louvre Museum, Paris, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Boston Museum, the Detroit Institute, etc. I am sending you herewith a pamphlet, which I think you will enjoy reading at your leisure, illustrating the Ancien Palais de Sagan which used to be the firm's headquarters in Paris until a few years ago when we moved them to New York.

I do hope that if you come to New York you won't fail to look me up and allow me to show you some of the paintings which we have here in the galleries.

Kindly believe me

Very sincerely yours,

(Rene Seligmann)
