We also have a painting by Bernard STROZZI (1581-1641) representing "St. Francis":

Oil: 52-1/2 x 37"

St. Francis with dark hair and bearded face, gazing upward toward left, arms folded across chest. At left, Christ on the cross. Background is of dark blue-green.

[[underlined]] Collections: [[/underlined]] Grimadi, Cadiz, Spain
Albert J. Pani, Mexico City, Mexico.
Pani was Mexican ambassador to France at Paris. Purchased painting in Paris in 1927 on advice of Jules Feral.

There is a painting of similar subject in the Academie of Sienna. On comparing the two works one sees obviously that they are by the same master as the quality is about the same, ours being no less powerful than the Siennese one.

Should you be interested in this picture, we would gladly forward a photograph to you.

In addition we have paintings and drawings by Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Bonnard, Boudin, Braque, Cassatt, Corot, Courbet, Delacroix, Delaunay, Fantin-Latour, Gris, La Fresnaye, Leger, Matisse, Picasso, Rivera, Segonzac, Seurat.

Before I close this letter I must add that we have some pieces of 18th century furniture, works of art of that period, as well as tapestries of that century and of earlier periods; sculpture and works of art of the Roman and Gothic periods.

I hope you will not mind this extremely lengthy letter. I have to apologize for not writing in French, but my secretary does not write French fluently. When you answer, please do use that language as you might gather that I was born and brought up in Paris.

Very sincerely yours,
