Dear Dr. Hart,

As I have so often heard of the very active interest you take in Art, I thought of writing you this little note to inquire whether I might have the privilege of calling on you and making your acquaintance some day next week, when I shall be stopping in Philadelphia.

My firm, which is being represented in your new museum, as well as in the leading private collections in your city, is organizing an exhibition of French paintings in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries at the McClees Art Galleries, 1615 Walnut Street, opening on Monday next, the 21st, and I do hope that you will, in any case, be able to spare a few moments to see this interesting exhibition.

I should indeed enjoy having an opportunity of calling on you and shall take the liberty of 'phoning you on Monday, to inquire whether it will be convenient for you to receive me.

Believe me to be

Yours very sincerely,

(Germain Séligmann)
