Dear Sir:

Your publicity problem is indeed a difficult one.

You are not at all interested in reaching all of the 100,000,000 people of this country. It would be futile to try to reach them. And it would be useless to reach them. Your problem is a selective one.

We feel very strongly that the 100,000 people who annually see the Harvard-Yale boat races at New London should be reminded of the place that Jacque Seligmann & Co. occupies in American life. These people are the leaders of fashion, finance and industry. They have unlimited purchasing power. They have the desire to own and the means to purchase the finer things of life. Town houses, Greenwich, Bar Harbor and Miami estates have they. This being so, the Whittall Salon is telling them about their Knotted Rugs; Udall & Ballou and Marcus about their jewels; Crane about their fixtures; Drecoll and Regny of Paris about their gowns; New York Galleries, M. Knoedler & Co., Wm. Baumgarten & Co. and A.H. Davenport Co. about their interior furnishings, etc. But then, little wonder for no less an authority than Town and Country says of this event: "Brings more famous people together from a wider radius than any other annual outdoor event."

The Harvard-Yale boat race is unquestionably [[underlined]]the[[/underlined]] outstanding athletic and social event of the year in America. No other event has quite the glamour that this classic has. At New London we can show you a double row of baby ocean liners four miles long. This year will mark the 76th Anniversary of this event and
