Dear Sirs:-

I am the executor of my brother, the late Robert F. Nathan. Among his effects are a dozen paintings by Harry Lee. I understand from my sister, Mrs. Annie Nathan Meyer, that about a year ago you gave an exhibition of Mr. Lee's paintings. This leads me to inquire (1) whether you would be willing to examine these paintings at my brother's residence, 12 West 74th Street, and give me your opinion as to their value, that is, what the estate could hope to realize for them (for this purpose I am enclosing a letter addressed to the widow), and (2) whether you would be willing to take possession of these paintings, put them on exhibition and endeavor to dispose of them, and if so, on what terms.

Very truly yours,
