Dear Bernard:

From stray reports that come in to me from time to time, I hear that business is going like a house on fire. Well, I must say that is to be expected, what with such a brilliant designer and showman such as yourself and a delightful shop.

I only wish I could say that our sales are as rapid and numerous as yours.

In any case, I was wondering if you had picked up any gossip or information out there which would be of interest to me, such as new people who have started buying pictures or who might be interested.

I know that your fine Italian ear is always attuned for such news and naturally, I should be most interested to hear of any new worthwhile prospect in that mad, mad place that you live in.

Anyhow, keep this in mind for the future and as you never can tell when I might be coming out again, it might be wise to have the way greased.
