Sir,

I was recently told that though you had retired from business and given up your place in Grafton Street, you still had an important collection.

If I understood correctly, you own some important bronzes, as well as Renaissance jewels. Being much interested in such works of art, may I take the liberty of inquiring whether this hearsay is correct, and in the affirmative whether you would consider parting with any of them.

I expect to be in London within the next couple of weeks and, in order to plan my stay accordingly, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you in this respect.

Thanking you in advance for your kind answer,

Yours very sincerely,

Germain Seligman
