WJ ES MAY 2, 1928

Oil City National Bank,
Oil City, Pa.

Dear Sirs:

Mrs. Golsan communicated with us in reference to the painting by WHISTLER which we sold at her request for the account of the Estate of the late Alfred H. Ramage and as to when payment of the picture would be made.

As is the case with such sales, payment is made as soon as the bill is collected and from our experience this is the general rule followed by the art dealers unless, of course, a special agreement has been made before the picture is sold.

We consider it was quite fortunate that this painting could be sold so promptly, as otherwise a long time might have elapsed before another chance might have presented itself.

Considering the statement of Mrs. Golsan that the Estate is about being closed, we are quite willing to write to our Mr. Germain Seligmann in Paris if he will consent to make a payment before the bill is collected, and we shall advise you as soon as we receive his reply.

Very truly yours,

JACQUES SELIGMANN & CO., Inc.,
