My dear Mr. Palitz:

Until the collapse of France I was at the head of our Paris branch and hesitate to admit that this is my first visit to New York.

I am most anxious to see all the interesting collections, and having heard of the beautiful pictures you own, I am wondering whether you would permit me to call on you and see them.

I do hope you will have a few moments for me and that I may look forward to the pleasure of meeting you.

Looking forward to your kind answer,

Yours very sincerely,

(George E. Seligmann)
