The total number of specimens added to the bird collection during the fiscal year 1893-'94 was 4,367 (Catalogue numbers 128,852 to 133,218 inclusive), against 2,491 specimens for the previous year.

[[underlined]] Dr. W. L. Abbott [[/underlined]] (Philadelphia, Pa.) : Seventy-one specimens, (46 species), from Kashmir;  several of them new to the collection.  (Gift).

[[underlined]] C. A. Allen [[/underlined]] (Nicasio, Calif.) through Maj. Chas. Bendire : One Gambel's Sparrow [[underlined]] (Zonotrichia leucophrys gambeli), [[/underlined]] one Savanna Sparrow [[underlined]] (Ammodramus sandwichensis savanna), [[/underlined]] and three Western Savanna Sparrows [[underlined]] (Ammodramus sandwichensis alaudinus). [[/underlined]]  (Gift).

[[underlined]] American Museum of Natural History [[/underlined]] (New York.) : Eighty-four specimens, (35 species), from Chapada, Matto Grosso, Brazil.  (Exchange).

[[underlined]] H. W. Andrews [[/underlined]] (U.S. Consul, Amoy, China.) : One specimen of [[underlined]] Hydrophasianus chirurgus, [[/underlined]] one [[underlined]] Mergus albellus, [[/underlined]] and one [[underlined]] Coturnix coturnix, [[/underlined]] from China.  (Gift).

[[underlined]] A. W. Anthony [[/underlined]] (San Diego, Calif.) : Six specimens of [[underlined]] Junco townsendi [[/underlined]] (new to the collection), and six specimens of [[underlined]] Sitta pygmaea leuconnucha [[/underlined]] from Lower California.  (Exchange).
