[[stamp]] Report for 1894 [[/stamp]]

1. HOW HAS THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1894, COMPARED WITH THE PREVIOUS YEAR, AS FAR AS (1) THE NUMBER OF ACCESSIONS AND (2) THEIR SCIENTIFIC VALUE ARE CONCERNED.

The fiscal year ending June 30, 1894 bears a most favorable comparison with that of 1893, both as to (1) number of accessions, and (2) their scientific value. Notwithstanding the fact that many accessions were derived through purchase for the Worlds Columbian exhibit, in 1893, those of 1894 are almost as numerous, while in the number of individual specimens, the entries for the year 1894 show a great increase — nearly double those of 1893.

The scientific value of the accessions of the past year compares very well with that of the previous year.

The appended list of principal accessions for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1894, will serve to illustrate the above statements.
