Each individual specimen should of course have a special label, and there should also be a label for each series.

In addition to the collection of specimens, I would suggest that either one long reading table, or not less than two smaller ones (like those already in use) be placed in the centre of the space between the wall cases, and that a selected lot of books be provided for the use of persons desiring to study the collection. These books would be better placed in a small book-case, provided with a lock, the key entrusted to the attendant of the bird-hall or some other person easily accessible to the visitor, and its use governed by printed instructions
