I have the honor to submit herewith a report upon the work performed in the Department of Birds during the month of January, 1895.

The number of specimens entered in the Museum register during January was 1273, as follows: 749 specimens from the Boucard collection (catalogue numbers 145,101-145,849), 419 specimens of the Department of Agriculture series (catalogue numbers 135,712-136,130), and 105 specimens from current accessions (catalogue numbers 135,149-135,253). The most important accessions are as follows:
