[[wavy underlined]]Special work accomplished[[/wavy underlined]].

During the absence of the Curator, Mr. Richmond measured about three hundred birds, to supply data for the work on birds of North and Middle America.

The collection of 749 specimens received from Mr. A. Boucard in January, was removed to the west basement where it was stored temporarily in some of the old-fashioned cases which are not only not mothproof, but are exceedingly inconvenient. The new cases, for which requisition was made months ago, have not yet arrived.

A catalogue of the objects in the children's case was made for the Secretary on March 12.

The large collection made by Dr. E.A.Mearus,U.S.A. on the Mexican boundary, was in large part rearranged, in systematic order.

The Curator returned from Florida on the 26th[[?iust]]., and will make a Special report on that trip.

Very respectfully yours,
[[signed]]R Ridgway[[/signed]]
Curator, Dept. Birds.
