I am very sorry about Davis. I do not know of any friends he has able to help him. He can tell you if he has them. If you dare risk the matter I can go his bail and then put him to chopping wood. You will do him a good thing I am sure I shall withdraw his commission he was or is it too far to walk — if not I will send a man. Please reply immediately. I hope you will see that justice is done Davis. Is not this the work of some enemies? I can hardly think it was a [[?]]
Very respectfully Yours
John Kimball
Supt of Schools
P.S. Please have Davis sign those papers and send them on immediately.

Very respectfully Yours,
