Miss [[underlined]] Katie Cummings, [[/underlined]] Great Mills, St. Mary's Co. Md. is quite an intelligent lady, and I think will make a very satisfactory Correspondent for the Auburn people. She will do better than Miss [[underlined]] Gibson. [[/underlined]]

I was so uncertain about your taking Miss [[underlined]] York [[/underlined]] that I offered her to the Pa. Branch, and they had taken her before I received Mr. [[underlined]] Frothingham's [[/underlined]] letter. But I am now getting a teacher equally good, whom I shall ask you to take in a few days.

I expect to report to you within a week that the $21000, in this City is paid. Then I hope to get more teachers for the places waiting in the Country. Do you not know some good colored men who will do for this work?

Very Respectfully Yours.
