The lumber should be sent to Broad Creek Landing and notice should be given Mr. Brown one week before the sending. The people have bought a fine lot for School and Church, and promise to go on with the work immediately if the lumber is sent.

Very Respectfully
Your Obedient Servant,

Sir:

In that box of books which I sent down with you to Capt. [[underlined]] Lawrence [[/underlined]] there was a package which I put up for your school, and intended to give to them, or sell very low. If you have your trunk I presume you have these books at the same time. You can buy other needed books of Capt. Lawrence, or I can have them sent to you from Baltimore, if the people will raise the money for them.

You must have books in order to make a good school. I hope you are now well, and well situated, and getting a good school in working order.
