Major:
I respectfully ask for material to build a school-house for the colored people at "Mount Pleasant," near Norbeck, Montgomery Co Md., as follows, viz:

23 ceiling joists - 20 ft. long - 3 x 5
75 joists - - - 12 ft. " [[ditto for long]] - 3 x 4
100 ft. of joist - 3 x 4 for porch, gable-ends &c.
2000 ft. 1/2 inch pine plank, for siding
700 ft. hemlock boards, for sheathing
3200 cypress shingles, No. 1.
750 ft. flooring, yellow pine, tongued, grooved and planed.
1 door and frame.
6 window frames and sash.
1500 ft. white pine boards, for desks and seats.

Mr. [[underlined]] A.R. Wadsworth [[/underlined]], has given one half-acre of land for the school, and the people have over $80.00 in hand with which to build the house.  They will also haul the material from this city, or so much as may be purchased here.  Mr. [[underlined]] W.R. Wadsworth [[/underlined]], Norbeck, Montgomery Co. Md. should be informed when and where the material can be obtained

I respectfully ask, that Messrs [[underlined]] P.A. Lee, James A. Scott, and A.M. Newman [[/underlined]], be appointed Asst. Supts. of Education, [[strikethrough]] from this city [[/strikethrough]] and stationed at St. Marys Co. Md.  Each at a salary of twenty dollars per month.  Said appointments to date from June 9th 1868.
