It is not in my power to appoint you to a position as teacher of a colored school.  I advise you to correspond with Col. [[underlined]] R. R. Corson, [[/underlined]] Secy. of Pa. F. R. Association, Philadelphia, Pa. or with [[underlined]] Rev. C. Kennedy, [[/underlined]] Secy. of N.Y. F. R. Association - No. 30 Vesey St. New York City.  These gentlemen are appointing teachers, I think very likely for Texas.

I respectfully ask that material to build a school-house for the colored people, be sent to Pomonkey Ware House, on the Potomac River, Charles County Md. in care of [[underlined]] Henry Dutcher, [[/underlined]] as follows:

23 Ceiling Joist - 20 ft. long, 3 x 5.
75 Joists 12 " " [[dittos for ft. long]] 3 x 4
100 ft. of Joist, 3 x 4 for Porch, Gable-ends &c.
2000 ft. 1/2 inch Pine Boards for siding.
700 Hemlock Boards for sheathing.
3200 Cypress Shingles, No. 1.
750 ft. Flooring, Yellow Pine - tongue, grooved and planed.
1 Door and Frame
6 Window-frames and Sash.
1500 ft. white Pine Boards, for Desks and Seats.

The people have bought the land and are ready with our assistance to build the house immediately.

Notice of the sending of the lumber should be given to Dr. [[underlined]] Wm. R. Wilmer, [[/underlined]] Port Tobacco, Charles Co. Md., a few days beforehand.
