I expect to leave here next Monday morning for Harper's Ferry, where I hope to see you at the depot. I intend to go to Hancock if necessary, and thence to Romney and Moorfield, on my way to the Ohio River, and the Kannawha Valley.

Dear Sir:

You wrote that four schools were in operation in your County. Where is the 4th? Is Miss [[underlined]] Swan's [[/underlined]] school kept up? I supposed the Society would close it on the 1st of July. I am very glad it is kept up.

Dear Sir:

Your services as agent for this Bureau, will not be needed after the 1st of August. I shall be very glad if you can continue the school as a private one. We will try to help the people to a teacher, next term, which should commence in September or October. I cannot certainly promise help as we do not know what the Societies will do.

We shall not be able to hold the meeting, about which I said something when I visited you, until some time in August. I will inform Mr. [[underlined]] Bowling [[/underlined]] in time.

Very Respectfully, Yours,
