I can only report my opinion when I see you.

Dear Sir:

I have no other places now ready where I can send those men. The Baltimore Association have 12 places, Fallston and Forest Hill, Harford Co., 4 places in Kent Co., 1 in Talbot Co. &c. I do not know what places [[underlined]] Core [[/underlined]] would send them, but think some of those I have mentioned.

I do not think they followed directions. I wrote you that they were to try to connect at Baltimore with Steamer: that [[underlined]] Core [[/underlined]] would help them. They wrote to Core, not getting an answere, came right through Baltimore instead of stopping to see how things were.

When here, I thought they had best return to Baltimore, as I was quite sure from the "time table", that the "Voist" was running, and it was so much better way to go. But I told them if it and no other boat was running, to return here and take a stage, which did start the next morning. Instead of that they continued on home. Their two mistakes were in coming right through Baltimore, and in not coming back here. I telegraphed to Baltimore but did not get reply in season, they day they were here.
