Dear Sir:

I send transportation for Miss [[underlined]] Lewis. [[/underlined]] If she comes on, please have her report to me, and I will send her on her way with proper directions to known parties.

I hope for much help from your Society during the spring and summer. We have students well prepared to teach who will like to go out for the vacation, if they can be supported.

Very Respectfully, Yours,
[[signed]] John Kimball [[/signed]]
Supt. of Education.

Enclosed please find a letter from Miss [[underlined]] Gordon. [[/underlined]] I told this man I would not object to his teaching, and if he got up a good school we might be able to help him somewhat. Could you put his school on your roll, and pay him $10.00 per month, getting rent from the Bureau?

Very Respectfully, Yours,

Supt. of Education.

Dear Sir:

Miss [[underlined]] Swan [[/underlined]] was not on duty but part of February, so I did not put her on last month. I neglected Miss [[underlined]] Powell [[/underlined]] last month, so send her account for [[strikethrough]] last [[/strikethrough]] two months. [[underlined]] S. J. R. Nelson, [[/underlined]] is in the place of [[underlined]] W. H. Harris, [[/underlined]] who left on the 1st March. [[underlined]] Nelson [[/underlined]] is a good man. As [[underlined]] Harris' [[/underlined]] school had gone on long, I placed [[underlined]] Nelson [[/underlined]] at Chaptico, St. Marys Co. Md. There was a mistake in the [[underlined]] Cummings [[/underlined]] sisters account for November. It was made from Nov. 11th to Dec. 1st $6.60. Should be $12.55 difference being $5.95 which I have charged.

Very Respectfully, Yours,
[[signed]] John Kimball [[/signed]]
Supt. of Education.
