Washington DC.
June 14th 1867.

John W Hill Esq.
Sir,
I think it best to have the land deeded to the School Board for [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] Clark County of which Dr Wilmer is President, living at Port Tobacco. Have the deed made out for a Public Free Colored school forever. Capt Brubaker will help you, & so will Dr Wilmer. When you have the land, and are ready to haul the lumber & put up the Building, let Capt Brubaker know, & he will send you all the lumber for the house to any wharf you may select. And then we will send you a Teacher if you pay the board.

Very respectfully
John Kimball
Supt of Schools.
