General,

I am informed by Mrs Mary Grove that her daughter Georgeanna Grove has been living for two years with a man by the name of Samuel Trottman, as his wife, and most of the time in East Capital St Barracks. That she began to live with this man after they were both free & that they have never been lawfully married. She, Mrs Grove, understands that this man is soon to be sent north by Mrs Griffing & thinks her daughter is going with him, if so she wants them to be properly married.

I have the honor to be
Your obt servant
