Dear Sir.
We do not advance money, but will pay Bills for lumber or work when they are sent to us, with the assurance that with our help a house & lot for a free colored School, of the size or near the size of the plan sent, will be secured.

This is the way in which we will help $200.00 and Genl Howard has ordered me to say that he will also give as much more as the Colored people themselves will give. $25, $50. $100. or more.  They pay out a small part of the taxes.  In other places they are raising money.  I think they will do it in Romney.  I prefer the new house rather than to try to fix up an old
