I have recd: notice, through Gen. Twiggs, that the Sect'y. of War had made(Dec 24) a requisition on the Sect'y of the Interior for $100.000 — to be placed in my hands.  Will you please to ask the Dept. to instruct the apt. Treas' in Norleans to furnish me with gold.  The bulk of silver renders it unsafe for me to
