  |40 Kegs pickles
on January 22, I required some potatoes say 20 @ 29 Bbls.

I would call your attention to the inferior quality of the candles lately received. They are Star or [[?]] Candles and 47ȼ the price of real sperm Candle

Ft Meyers Fla, Mr [[underlined]] B. Cowart [[/underlined]]is the contractor for Ft Myers, and you will only pay him or his authorized agent for Beef recd. from him.  He desires me to say that he has not & shall not give any one authority (pow atty) to draw money due to him & recpt. for him, but desire to be paid here.

You may pay him by giving your receipts to Lt JS Everett & an order on him for the amount
