The most important contributions to the collection during the year are:

From Dr. Wm. L. Ralph, 26 Court Street Utica, New York, a magnificent collection, consisting of four hundred and forty-four (444) sets of eggs, representing one hundred and ninety-four (194) species and one thousand six hundred and thirty (1630) specimens. Among these are several species near the collection; many others a very rare and have been especial desiderata for years and all are beautifully prepared. Accompanying these eggs are one hundred (100) nests also in an excellent state of preservation. This collection is by far the most valuable gift received, since I have b been in charge of the Department.

From Mr. R. Mac Farlane, Chief Factor, Hudson Bay Co. Cumberland House Saskatchewan, Canada. An interesting collection of fifty-nine (59) sets of eggs represented by two hundred and twenty-five (225) specimens and thirty nests. This
