4,11,'70 #17 * | McComas, Geo. M. | Baltimore, Md.  April 9th 1870  States in reply that he will accompany the Supt. of the 18th inst:  that the people at Forest Hill are in want of the appropriation for their school house.

4,16,'70 #18 * | Murry, Daniel | Forestvill, Prince George's Co., Md.  April - 1870.  Requests that [[underlined]] Miss P.C. Groves [[/underlined]] may be sent to take the school at this place.

5,2,'70 #19 * | McComas, Geo. M. | Baltimore, Md.  April 30th 1870.  Acknowledges receipt of check for $300.00 to be expended in construction of school house in Harford County.  Think the house will be completed and dedicated on the 4th of July.

4,28,'70 #20 * | Mills William | Chaptico, St. Mary's Co. Md.  April 23d '70.  Complains of the teacher, [[underlined]] Mr. Fry. [[/underlined]]  States that many of the people have withdrawn their children, &c.  Wants a good man sent in his stead.

5,4,'70 #21 * | Monroe H.A.  Teacher. | Westover Station, Somerset Co., Md.  May 2d 1870.  States that the people of this place bought a lot of ground for school purposes with the understanding that they were to received aid from the Bureau in building house:  that they neglected to secure the right of way, and are forb- to haul lumber to the spot:  that Joseph Colbourn represents himself as agent of the Bureau and says he will procure $200.00 for them when they give him a copy of the deed.  Inquires if Mr. C. is an agent of said Bureau, and if Bureau will furnish through him.  Asks the advice of Supt. &c., &c..

5,6,'70 #22 * | Mortimer r.A.  Teacher. | Towsontown, Baltimore Co., Md.  May 4th 1870.  States that the trustees have accepted the offer of the Supt.:  that he has just opened school.

5.12.70. 23 * | Marshall, Ida S.  Teacher. | Churchville, Harford Co. Md.  May 2d 1870.  States that the people are growing indifferent in relation to educational matters.  Requests the Supt. to send speakers to address them &c.

5.18.70. 24 * | Mission, Presby. H.  Mitchell, Rev. W.F.  Secy. | New York City.  May 6th 1870.  Inquires how many teachers from Lincoln University can be located for the summer, can be located for the summer.  Also inquires if the Bureau will continue to pay rental at the rate of ten dollars per month for each teacher.
