1.7.70. | 1 * Wilmer Dr. Wm R. | Port. Tobacco, Charles Co. Md., Jany, 6th 1870. Forwards order of [[underlined]] James H. Brooks [[/underlined]] (teacher) to pay him (Wilmer) $4 States that Brooks was wrecked on the river while going to his school, and called on him in a destitute condition. 

1, 13, '70 #2 * | West Florence K. Teacher. | Pottsville, Montgomery, Co. Md. January 10th, 1870 Forwards her report for Dec. Requests to have the amount due her sent next week by Mer. Adams who will call for it. 

1, 13, '70 # 3 * | Watts - Ellen L. Teacher. | Point of Rocks, F'dk., Co. Md. January 11th 1870 States that she has just arrived at this place, and finds that this school has a teacher that she is without the means to return home, &c. 

1, 19, '70 # 4 * | Watts - Ellen L. Teacher | Pockville, Montgomery Co. Md. January 18, 1870 States arrival at this place, and she will open school at once. 

1, 10, '70 # 5 * | Wilmer Wm R. | Port Tobacco, Charles Co. Md. January 17th 1870. Acknowledges the receipt of letter of 14th inst., containing check for four dollars ($4.00, amount he advanced a teacher. States indications of prosperity among colored pupils near this village. Extends an invitation to the Supt., whenever he shall visit schools in that neighborhood to make his house his home.
