States that the number of pupils is increasing &c.  Requests to have Check for this month's salary sent her at Port Deposit.

5.17.70. 20. * | Waters, Miss L.C.  Teacher. | Clayton, Harford Co. Md.  May 15th 1870.  Inquires if the Supt. has decided to continue her school through the summer:  if so she would like to remain, but thinks the average attendance will not reach thirty &c.

7.5.70. | 23 * Wilmer, Dr. Wm. R. | Port Tobacco, Charles Co. Md.  July 4th 1870.  Forwards deed of school site at Mt. Pleasant, Charles County.  States that if any aid can be offered these people in building a school house, he will ascertain what is needed.

7.9.70. | 24 * Winters Richard, Butler Rich'd Sr., Butler Rich'd Jr. Trustees  E.B.#285 Vol.1.1870 | Chaptico, St. Marys Co. Md.  July 6th 1870.  States that sometime since they received lumber to rebuild a burnt school house at that place, and it was hauled from the river to that place at an expense to them of 47.8/100:  that parties recently hauled the lumber away, being authorized to do so by Maj. [[underlined]] VanDerlip: [[/underlined]]  that they have just secured a good school site, and request that the Commissioner aid them in building a school house,, &c. &c.

7.19.70. | 25 * Wilmer, Dr. Wm. R. | Port Tobacco, Charles Co. Md.  July 18th 1870.  Acknowledges receipt of deed vouchers &c.  Hopes the Supt. will be able to come to Port Tobacco on Thursday, and fill the appointments he has made for him, &c. &c.
