Dear Sir
I received your letter and special orders the 24th inst and am on my journey in obedience to orders and will do all I can in every case and report to you as soon as posible at Washington and also let you know by letter how things are as I go along.

N.B. if it is not too late when you send the teacher for Hunting Creek if he comes by steamer to land at Deep Landing Patuxent River and enquire for Abraham Hicks who lives near the landing the one for Hellen Creek land at Solomon's Island and enquire for Capt Peter Brooks both are colored men.
