Butler J. H. 

States that he has been to St. Mary's, Charles, Prince George, Calvert and Ann Arundel Counties:-  that he proceeded to Annapolis and Baltimore in obedience to Special Orders:-  that after the trial he was ordered by Maj. VanDerlip to several places to look after apprentice cases:-  that as soon as he can finish this business he will to to St. Mary's, Charles and Prince George Counties and push forward the building of School Houses:-  that he has learned that the schools are to be closed on the last of this month.  Thinks it will injure the cause to close them before the appointed time:  and that the people can be induced to pay the salaries of the teachers for the month of June.
