Sir.  Having commenced to build our School House, and not being able to finish it, I thought I would write, and inform you what is still wanting before it will be completed; and also I am compelled to say that we realy are not able to finish it ourselves, without some assistance from you. In the first place we require laths, and lime; we have no furnature for the building; we have not got a stove; nothing has been paid by the Freedmen; over ($100.) one hundred is owing on the building; nothing has been raised for the Teachers.

We are obliged to charged every child (37 cents) thirty seven cents and their parents are not able to pay
