Buckhannon W.Va.
August 7, 1868.

We ^a majority of the Trustees of school district no. 1, Buckhannon Township, Upshur County, West Virginia, certify that we, in acceptance of the proposal made to Mr. Cooper, our Clerk of Board of Education, by Mr. Jno. Kimball, Supt. of Pub. Schools (see ¶8 — letter to Cooper — herein inclosed) — employed Benj. F. Malone, a suitable person — holding a certificate of fitness to teach — from our County Supt. of Public Schools — to teach said school for the term of 3 months, we paying other expences of school.

We certify also that said Benj. F. Malone taught said school for 3 months in a manner perfectly satisfactory to us as trustees of school, and further — that Benj. F. Malone's claim of sixty dollars ($60.) against the Bureau is justly due.
