States in reply to letter of the 4th inst. that they will appoint Mr. Collins provided he can furnish testimonials of a good moral character, for which she has written him.

Requests to have their teachers supplied with registers and blanks.

States that Miss Hall at Chesapeake City, and Miss York at Great Mills have both small schools and she has notified the trustees of both places that these teachers would be removed unless there was an immediate improvement.
