States that he learns [[underlined]] J. W. Somers [[/underlined]] who was to go from Leasburg, N.C. to Dames Quarter has broken his arm and will not be able to travel for a few days; that he is very glad to hear so good a report from their Maryland schools &c.  that they are about sending a Christmas box to each of their teachers in the South, and regret that they cannot reach their Maryland teachers, &c.
